What is the CMS Disaster Preparedness Community?
This site has integrated many tools to help community members connect with each other. CMS Disaster Preparedness Community acts as a “one stop shop” for physicians by providing up-to-date news, resources, calendar of events as well as discussion boards and email.
About this project
The Colorado Medical Society, in collaboration with 10 component and two specialty societies, has contracted with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to coordinate disaster preparedness, planning and response activities for physicians. The goal is to assure that every Colorado physician understands what would happen in the event of a large-scale disaster and has developed and practiced a plan for his or her individual, practice and community response to such an event.
The CMS Practice Management Community is designed as an interactive tool that allows physicians and their office staff to access news alerts, information on educational opportunities, self-help tools, resources, and discussions on practice management, billing, and reimbursement issues. The site is directed by the CMS Physicians' Congress for Health Care Reform. The Congress, composed of physicians from practically every kind of practice setting all over the state, is dedicated to uniting physicians in a strategy to achieve comprehensive health care reform in Colorado.
