WHEREAS, the Constitution & Bylaws Committee has undertaken a review of the Constitution and the Bylaws, and
WHEREAS, the Constitution contains language that is no longer valid, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Constitution be amended as follows:
CONSTITUTION OF
COLORADO MEDICAL SOCIETY

SEPTEMBER 2005)
Membership
The
members of this Society shall be classified as Active Members, Honorary
Members, Associate Members, and such other classes of members as may be
established by the Bylaws.
Qualifications for each class of members and the procedures for
obtaining such membership shall be provided in the Bylaws; provided that Active
and Associate Members of this Society may gain such membership only through a
component society of the Society, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THE BYLAWS,
and upon election to such memberships shall MAY also become members of
this Society.
House of Delegates
There
shall be a governing body of the Society to be known as the House of Delegates,
which shall have the supreme policy-making authority of the Society, subject to
such authority as may be granted by the Bylaws to the Board of Directors to
establish policy for the Society between Meetings of the House of
Delegates. It shall elect the officers
of the Society, except as otherwise provided in the Bylaws, the Directors, the
AMA Delegates and Alternates, the Judicial Councilors, the members of the Peer
GRIEVANCE Review Committee, the members of the Councils, and other elected
officials as provided in the Bylaws.
It shall transact all general business of the Society not otherwise
specifically provided for by the Constitution or Bylaws of the Society.
Meetings
In
each year there shall be an Annual and Interim Meeting of the House of
Delegates of the Society at such time and place as provided in the Bylaws. Special Meetings may be called and held
as provided in the Bylaws.
ARTICLE IX
Funds, Dues and Property
Funds
shall be raised by annual per capita dues and may be supplemented by special
assessments upon each member, which dues or special assessments shall be equal
for all persons within any one classification or subclassification of
membership. Funds may also be
raised from the Society's publications, by voluntary contributions, or
in any manner approved by the Board of Directors OR THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.
