WHEREAS, technology advances for use in the physician office continue to evolve, improve, and enhance both patient care and staff/ physician efficiency, and

 

WHEREAS, enhanced technology at the physician's disposal may result in increased quality of care and more cost effective care, and         

 

WHEREAS, deciding on quality, cost effective, individual, practiced-based solutions to office technology is difficult, time consuming, and continually evolving, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that Colorado Medical Society organize an annual technology fair for providing information regarding but not limited to training, vendors, claim filing, continuity of care records , e-Rx, e-mail, EMR, billing, scheduling, payments, leasing vs. purchasing options, hardware, and software, and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that CMS solicit COPIC input regarding: 1. risk management with respect to office technology, 2. marketing of the fair to insureds, 3. help encouraging insured participation with consideration of ERS points for attendees, and be it further

 

RESOLVED, the CMS solicit co-sponsorship/co-marketing with hospital systems every year to help physicians interpret the wide array of technical applications for clinical and business uses, and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the fair be sponsored by vendors so that it would be free or of minimal cost to attendees.
