Short-Term Measures (18 months)

1. Higher limits on med-pay amount (at least $100,000 to unlimited),

a. Remove health insurance company’s ability to subrogate with auto insurance med-pay benefits

2. Support funding mechanism for acute and/or trauma care (includes any and all care rendered pre-hospital and at the trauma center)

a. Possible “sin-tax” on moving motor vehicle violations

3. Mandate increased consumer education by insurance agents on their policy

Long-Term Solution

Return to some type of no-fault system with controls that address the insurance industry’s concerns around abuse and over utilization.
