CMS carefully weighing position on ColoradoCare/Amendment 69
A number of media outlets have published an op-ed written by private physicians citing select policies of the Colorado Medical Society (CMS) that could be construed that CMS has taken a favorable position on ColoradoCare/Amendment 69. The medical society has not yet taken a formal position on the amendment while completing its due diligence to vet the proposal and gather the perspectives of our members via a statewide survey before rendering a decision.
The CMS Board of Directors will be making a decision on Amendment 69 at its Sept. 16 meeting as part of the CMS Annual Meeting. The media is invited to attend a Friday night session where the decision of the board and the results of the survey will be released as part of a formal debate on ColoradoCare. In addition to the ColoradoCare panel, the weekend will feature discussions and workshops on medical aid in dying, the health industry mergers, political analysis on the election cycle, MACRA, safe opioid prescribing, and much more.
