[DENVER, COLO.] — The Colorado Medical Society – the largest organization of physicians in Colorado, with over 7,500 members across all specialties – announced the promotion of two staff members, Kate Alfano and Paige Brophy, to director positions.
Paige assumed the position of CMS Director of Member Services on Oct. 1, 2021. Prior to this role, she served as the executive director of the Northern Colorado Medical Society, a component society of the Colorado Medical Society, and as the executive director of the Outdoor Lab Foundation, which supported a program of Jeffco Public Schools. She is a Colorado native originally from the Wheat Ridge area and is an alumna of Colorado State University.
“I am honored to be the new Director of Membership Services for the Colorado Medical Society,” Paige said. “Colorado physicians and practices have faced great challenges through the COVID-19 pandemic. I am passionate about serving our state’s physicians in service, advocacy and education; helping them when they need help; and advancing CMS’s mission to improve health care in the state of Colorado.”
Kate assumed the position of CMS Director of Communications and Marketing on Nov. 1, 2021. She has worked in the realm of health care communications and physician advocacy for 16 years, first as the associate director of communications for the Texas Academy of Family Physicians and then as a contractor for the Colorado Medical Society and other CMS components for the past nine years.
“CMS supports Colorado physicians of diverse backgrounds and geographic locations in all stages of their careers and in their various practice models,” Kate said. “I look forward to promoting the important work CMS is doing now on behalf of our members, and the great work we will achieve as we carry out our strategic plan. Effective communication means not just sharing information but listening to our members’ priorities so we can best serve them.”
