Thanks to tremendous response from CMS member physicians who have engaged on a COVID-19 discussion form through Basecamp, the Colorado Medical Society has been able to relay Colorado physicians' concerns from the frontlines to state leaders, making specific requests for action the state can take to help ensure physicians and other health care workers have the tools and support you need to continue to care for patients.

In a letter sent to Gov. Jared Poils yesterday, March 17, CMS President David Markenson, MD, MBA, asked the governor to remove barriers to the increased utilization of telehealth; issue clear, actionable guidance for clinics facing PPE shortages; prioritize COVID-19 testing for physicians and other health care providers; and provide more detailed guidance to retired physicians about how to step up. Also plan to join CMS for our virtual town hall meeting tonight (Wednesday, March 18) at 6 p.m. Details here.
