At CMS's urging, DOI removes part of Colorado Option Section 1332 waiver request
In a win for Colorado physicians, the Division of Insurance removed a part of the Section 1332 waiver request for the Colorado Option that the Colorado Medical Society warned would decrease competition in the health plan marketplace by allowing the insurance commissioner to restrict options that may be available to consumers among non-Colorado Option plans.
CMS also continued to work on your behalf by:
- Submitting a follow-up letter in response to the DOI's revised draft health benefit plan regulation for the Colorado Option's standardized plan, thanking the DOI for making changes based on our previous comments and continuing to advocate for incentives for high-value services and other measures to facilitate chronic disease management and address social determinants of health.
- Submitting a follow-up letter on the revised draft regulation on the Colorado Option's network adequacy standards and cultural competency requirements, thanking the DOI for including some of our recommendations in the new draft as well as reiterating our remaining concerns.
