January 27, 2021 Update:

Governor Jared Polis with Dr. Rachel Herlihy provided an update on Jan. 26th regarding Colorado's vaccination efforts.

Colorado continues to receive 70,000-80,000 vaccines per week. It was reported that 85% of phase 1a vaccinations are complete. There are a total of 530,000 people in Colorado that are in the 70+ population and the state remains confident to complete the goal of vaccinating 70% of 70+ population by the end of February.

The first large-scale drive through vaccination facility will open this weekend at Coors Field through a partnership with UCHealth. 1,000 people were successfully vaccinated last weekend at a soft launch and 10,000 people are expected to be vaccinated this coming weekend (Jan. 30 & 31) at Coors Field.  If you have a patient that would like to take advantage of this opportunity, they can visit www.uchealth.org/covidvaccine or call 720-462-2255 to get scheduled. The person wishing to get vaccinated does not have to be a UCHealth patient and if they have trouble scheduling online they are encouraged to call the new UCHealth vaccine hotline, 720-462-2255.

Finally, it was reported that equity continues to be a priority when it comes to vaccination planning. There continues to be efforts of partnership with community health organizations. There have been many vaccine drives that have been stood up across the state to reach targeted 70+ populations who may not have otherwise had access.

The Governor announced that more information about updating phasing of the vaccine will be released later this week.
