Gov. Polis and CDPHE vaccine update

January 13, 2021 Update:

On January 13th Governor Polis was joined by Peter Banko, CEO of Centura Health, Dr. Richard Zane, UCHealth's Chief Innovation Officer, and John Santistevan, President & CEO of Salud Family Health Centers to provide an update on the State’s goals to vaccinate Coloradans in Phases 1A and 1B.

The Governor reiterated that one of our main goals is to vaccinate 70% of Coloradans 70 years and older by February 28.

Equitable distribution of the vaccine was discussed and an outline of percentage of vaccine supply given to providers was presented:

  • Hospitals: 50%
  • Federally Qualified Health Partners: 20%
  • Community Partners and Local Public Health Agencies: 20%
  • Retail Pharmacies: 10%

Currently, 70,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses each week are arriving in Colorado from the federal government. It was reported however that this number can change based upon on what federal government can provide Colorado during a given week.

If you have been unable to access a vaccine, please email membership@cms.org

January 6, 2021 Update:

Governor Jared Polis and CDPHE provided an update on the state's response to COVID-19 and the vaccine in Colorado.

Several timely goals were stated:

  • By January 15th most health care workers classified in 1a will have received the vaccine. Local health departments are prioritizing high risk, unaffiliated health care workers in phase 1a.
  • By February 28th all people classified in the 70+ population that would like to receive the vaccine will be vaccinated. The process for getting this vaccine to this population can be found here
  • Essential workers and teachers will begin getting vaccinated in early March.

There are many health partners that are working on getting the 70+ population vaccinated by the end of February. To learn more information and to understand how a patient can successfully schedule their vaccine, please view "How to contact providers (for Coloradans 70+)"
