What you need to know about Colorado vaccine mandates

Colorado
  • On Aug. 30, 2021, the Colorado Board of Health voted to adopt an emergency rule mandating that licensed health care facilities develop policies and procedures to ensure 100 percent of employees, direct contractors and support staff obtain full COVID-19 vaccination status.
    • The first dose must be received by Sept. 31 and the second dose (if applicable) must be received by Oct. 31, 2021, as well as any booster in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
    • Physicians who own or work for an independent practice are not employees of a licensed healthcare facility and are not subject to this vaccine mandate.
  • CDPHE released guidance on the emergency rule on Sept. 13 and 17.
  • The Board of Health will vote on the final rule on Oct. 20, 2021.
