Description: This meeting is open to executive directors of component societies of the Colorado Medical Society and CMS staff. Attendees will discuss current and upcoming projects and events around the state.
12-1 p.m. Board of Directors lunch
Description: This buffet lunch is open to any member or staff who attends the CMS Board of Directors meeting in person.
12-1 p.m. Finance Committee meeting
Description: This is a meeting of the members of the Finance Committee, to discuss current finances for CMS and future budget needs. All meetings are open to all CMS members to attend.
1-5 p.m. Board of Directors meeting (hybrid)
Description: This is the final quarterly meeting of the CMS Board of Directors and will be offered as a hybrid meeting for in-person or virtual participation. Click here to register to attend this meeting virtually. The agenda will be available two weeks in advance of the meeting. All meetings are open to all CMS members to attend.
6-7:30 p.m. Welcome Reception with Exhibitors
Description: Don’t miss our opening reception to pick up your registration materials, meet and greet old and new friends, and visit with our exhibitors who keep the conference fees low and offer great products and services.
8:30-9:30 p.m. Medical student track - Meet and greet/networking
Description: When was the last time you had social time with your peers outside of the classroom? Enjoy a meet and greet to put faces to names beyond the Zoom screen. Active physicians are invited, too – especially those willing to mentor the next generation of physicians.

7-4:30 p.m. Poster contest
Description: CMS is proud to host our first-ever poster contest! All CMS members, especially medical students and residents, are invited to present your research through poster-panel displays in three categories: primary research, case report and evidence-based review. 8-10 a.m. The path forward: Understanding, connecting and flourishing in a multicultural context
Description: Renowned speaker Effley Brooks, MBA, will train you on how to navigate individual and cultural identities to connect and communicate better.
10-10:30 a.m. Exhibit break/poster discussions
Description: Visit with our exhibitors in the atrium of The Village at Breckenridge or meet the physicians and future physicians who are presenting their research for our poster contest.
10:30-11:30 a.m. [Continued] The path forward: Understanding, connecting and flourishing in a multicultural context
Description: The second and final part of training in inclusive leadership with Effley Brooks, MBA.
11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. COMPAC Lunch
Description: COMPAC hosts lunch on Saturday with awards, an insider’s look into the election season and 2023 legislature, and a brief business meeting to elect members of the COMPAC Board of Directors. Gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan options will be available.

3:45-4:30 p.m. Exhibit break
This is our final exhibit break. We will announce the winner of the raffles and our poster contest. Don’t miss it!
4:30-6 p.m. Wellness break
Description: Take a break from a busy day to hike, bike or rest, and rejoin the fun for our evening activities. Mini session (30-minute) slots with a professional photographer are available Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning for family photos in the fall foliage. More information below; sign up here.
5-9 p.m. Children's camp ages 0-2, 2-12
Description: Bring the kids to enjoy arts and crafts, snacks and other activities while you participate in the meeting. They will have a movie night during the evening Gala. 0-2 years old - $35 per child; 2-12 - $50 per child.

Description: Enjoy a cocktail reception with friends old and new before the President’s Gala.
6:30-10 p.m. President's Gala
Description: The President’s Gala is the highlight of the weekend, featuring the passing of the gavel from outgoing CMS President Mark Johnson, MD, MPH, to incoming CMS President Patrick Pevoto, MD, MBA. Dress is semi-formal, with optional inspiration from the theme -- cowboy chic. Enjoy food stations around the room, the COPIC dessert bar, music and dancing.

- Update members on current trends in the federal payment landscape and how the landscape is evolving

- Summarize state efforts to move toward value-based payments and alternative payment models in both the commercial market and Medicaid
- Inform members of how CMS has been involved in these initiatives and has been advocating for physicians and patients
- Discuss the difference between various payment models and their strengths and weaknesses
- Reflect on the need for Colorado physicians to make their voices heard on the federal and state levels
