The Colorado Medical Society DEI Committee welcomed faculty from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Community Engagement Health Equity in Action Lab (HEAL) to present the four-part Foundations in Equity certificate program once per month in July, August, September and October. The live presentations have now concluded, but recordings will be available soon, by mid-November, for those who registered. Module 1: DEI 101
Zoom webinar: Thursday, July 27, 6-7:30 p.m.
This module will explore the historical context, definitions, and core concepts as it relates to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Module 2: Implicit Bias
Zoom webinar: Wednesday, Aug. 23, 6-7:30 p.m.
This module will evaluate the underlying causes of implicit biases, describe the impact bias has on ourselves and others, and discuss evidence-based strategies to mitigate implicit bias.

Module 3: Microaggressions, Allyship, and Upstanding
In-person at the Annual Meeting in Vail/Zoom by request: Saturday, Sept. 23, 2-3:30 p.m.
This module focuses on microaggressions and strategies to be an effective ally. We will also practice upstanding skills to intervene when we experience or witness microaggressions.

Module 4: Equity in Action

This module will leverage the socio-ecological model to provide a framework for identifying potential actions to improve equity and inclusion.
