CMS has received many questions about CME requirements for licensure following passage of legislation in 2024. As the law currently stands, starting with the 2027 renewal cycle, physicians will be required to complete at least 30 hours of approved AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ every two years. Much of this education will be met by your the maintenance of certification requirements you already complete for your board certification. It’s important to note that the Colorado Medical Board has not completed work on this issue yet. CMS will provide more details as they develop, and we are committed to helping members meet CME requirements for licensure. Read more here.
