Diving deeper into your membership
We are so thankful that you have joined the almost 7,000 Colorado physicians and medical students in the Colorado Medical Society. It is through our members that we can make a difference!
While our voice is powerful as one, one physician’s voice can also be amplified through our virtual engagement platform, Central Line. Central Line is your direct link for proposing and influencing policies of the Colorado Medical Society.
Here’s how it works, in brief:
- A member writes a policy they think would benefit Colorado physicians and patients. The policy goes to staff for review and processing.
- The policy then goes to physicians who have self-identified expertise in a policy topic (interest groups) for review and vote.
- Then the policy goes to the full membership for review and vote.
- Staff compiles the data and presents a report to the CMS Board of Directors, and the board votes on the policy.
- The board then updates the full membership and asks whether they made the right decision. If yes, it is a new policy of CMS. If not, the policy goes back to the board with feedback from members.
We hope you will feel empowered to be involved in the Colorado Medical Society in whatever way speaks to your passions.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions about your membership. You can reach me directly at mike_bintner@cms.org or reach CMS anytime at membership@cms.org. I am honored to be your direct contact for anything you might need. Thank you, once again, for joining the Colorado Medical Society.
